Blog 10: Evaluation of Blog Experience

Imagen
Hi again! This is my last blog, and I'm happy because this was a good experience :). In general, I think this was a great way to practice my writing in english, and also, express myself, sharing my ideas and thoughts with my classmates. I never have written so much in english in my life! I feel my writing skills are better now. I'd gotten back the security I'd lost a couple of years ago, when I finished school (since that moment, I stopped practicing my english). During the blogs, I got more speed to write, and thanks to the websites the teacher recommended to us, I know more words than before, and where to ask for vocabulary the next time xD. In the future, I'd like to include in the blog themes about topical subjects, for example, the social revolution in Chile in the past months. Also, talk about different cultural and artistic activities. I would like to write reviews of movies, series or books. I never had written a review, but that would be an interesting ac...

Blog 9: Music

Imagen
Hi again! About my musical interests, I always said that I didn't like a genre in specific, but then I realized that the songs I liked and like until now are among Rock Music and Pop Music, I think because of the rhythms of the drums and the guitar arrangements, or the catchy tunes :). I use to listen music from the 70s to the present (in english or spanish), and generally the new music I discover is by listening the radio, YouTube, and more recently, Spotify. I like the chilean music a lot too: "Los Bunkers", "Los Tres", "Inti Illimani", "Gepe", among others. But there is one group that I have enjoyed a lot since I listened it for the first time a few years earlier, in 2016. They are "Ases Falsos". At the beginning, the group was known as "Fother Muckers", until 2011, when they changed it by the present band's name, which is also the name of one of their songs, realeased in the album "Justo y Necesario" ...

Blog 8: A subject I enjoyed studying this semester

Imagen
Hi everyone! I hope the last week had been nice for you :) In spite of the difficulties of studying by the online way, I think this semester I have learned many things. Some of the subjects have been more problematic, but there are others that have been very interesting to me. These are "Workshop: Music Reading and Ear Training" and "Basic Harmony I". In the first one, we learn about theoretical elements of music, practice our reading and hearing skills and also we analyze music, popular songs and classic music. The main contents we have seen in the workshop are harmonic functions, chords, musical intervals, musical scales, rhythm on music, among others. The second signature don't belong to my curriculum map (it belongs to the career Musical Composition), but I decided to add it because I want to go into detail about the area of musical composition. In the signature we learn about harmony, specially theoretical knowledge and examples, and we practice harmo...

Blog 7: A Person in My Field: Joe Hisaishi

Imagen
Hi again! I hope you are fine :) There is a person who I admire, and certainly he is related with one of the fields inside the Sound Engineering. His name is Joe Hisaishi, a japanese composer who had created many of the soundtracks from Studio Ghibli, an important studio in Japan dedicated to produce animated films by the traditional way. He was born in Japan, on December 6, 1950. In 1969 he attended to the Kunitachi College of Music, where he studied Music Composition. His real name is Mamoru Fujisawa, but around the early 80s he started to use the pseudonym "Joe Hisashi", at the same time his work were becoming well know. About his work, he had made a lot of compositions, very varied and innovative, consisting of solo albums, film scores, among others. Some examples of that are, as I mentioned at the beginning of this blog, his film scores from Studio Ghibli. Since 1984, he had composed for all the films of Hayao Miyazaki, the most important director of the studio, an...
