Blog 2: Why did I choose Sound Engineering?
When I was a child, I used to say: "I wanna be an inventor". So with my creative mind, I used to get inspired with some movies or cartoons to imagine and create (actually trying to create) ingenious inventions, like a fliying skateboard and things like that xD.
When I get older, I started to think about becoming a engineer, because I like physics and mathematics, and I was impressed about all the posibilities that the engineering has to face different problems and create new things. The year was 2016. After that, I realized that the idea of studying engineering wasn't so far of my crazy thoughts of childhood.
So I looked for the different types of engineering, and finally, over 2018, three of them were the most interesting to me: Mechanical Engineering, Naval Engineering and Sound Engineering. While I was deciding between those careers, the idea of studying violin at a conservatory came up. That was a brief idea, because I realized that I like the violin, but not enough to study it as a career. Nevertheless, I did an exam in 2018 to be accepted at Musical Institute of the Catholic University of Chile, and study Musical Theory and Literature.
I was accepted, but at the end, I get decided by Sound Engineering, because this career has two things I like very much: the physics and mathematics of the engineering, and the spirit of music.
I had lived a very good experience at University until now, very different from I used to imagine. It wasn't so difficult as I thinked it would be to live in Santiago, far away from my natal city and family. I have met very good people and friends at the Faculty, and at the residence I am living. I have to study harder than at school, but I think I am capable of doing it. I am very grateful about this new experiences.
I would like to work making movie sountracks. However, I'm open to new posibilities that imply creating new things (not music only), like when I was an inventor kid.

I really admire the way you see creativity. I hope you do well in what you want to do!
ResponderBorrar(and I also wish that I would like physics and mathematics as much as you do in Sound Engineering).
I think it would be great if you made a movie soundtrack, then I can say hey, he was my student haha
ResponderBorrarYou're going to be the new Hans Zimmer :)
ResponderBorrarGreat blog, your childhood´s idea is still alive and that´s so good!!
ResponderBorrarYou're the first person that i know who speak good things about the mathematics xd personally is the only one i hate jaja
ResponderBorrarGood work!
