Blog 7: A Person in My Field: Joe Hisaishi
Hi again! I hope you are fine :)
There is a person who I admire, and certainly he is related with one of the fields inside the Sound Engineering. His name is Joe Hisaishi, a japanese composer who had created many of the soundtracks from Studio Ghibli, an important studio in Japan dedicated to produce animated films by the traditional way.

He was born in Japan, on December 6, 1950. In 1969 he attended to the Kunitachi College of Music, where he studied Music Composition. His real name is Mamoru Fujisawa, but around the early 80s he started to use the pseudonym "Joe Hisashi", at the same time his work were becoming well know.
About his work, he had made a lot of compositions, very varied and innovative, consisting of solo albums, film scores, among others. Some examples of that are, as I mentioned at the beginning of this blog, his film scores from Studio Ghibli. Since 1984, he had composed for all the films of Hayao Miyazaki, the most important director of the studio, and his co-founder. Some of my favorite sountracks are from the films "Howl's Moving Castle" (2004), "Spirited Away" (2001), "Kiki's Delivery Service" (1989) and "The Wind Rises" (2013).
A like so much his work because it can be very emotional, and human. I think the movies of Hayao Miyazaki woudn't be the same without the music of Joe Hisaishi.
Thanks for reading, and see you soon! :)
